BREAK THE ICE
Your first day of tutoring will mainly be about breaking the ice with the professor and the students in a very informal way.
Some classes, especially at Mamiani, might have had several T.U.R. tutors in the past, while others,
especially at Ripetta and Pinturicchio, might be new to the project.
It would be helpful to ask some information to your professor, including a list with the students names, the syllabus they are covering and the average English level , which is seldom homogeneous.
Generally 14-15 year old have a low intermediate level; 16-17 intermediate; 18-19 upper intermediate .
You might want to prepare an icebreaker activity/questions to make sure that all the students participate.
